Questions
Asked and answered
Not here? Call any office and ask.
What does the free call cover?
Thirty minutes with a lawyer to talk through your situation and what a plan would involve. We will tell you if you do not need us.
How much does a plan cost?
We quote a flat fee in writing before any work begins. A will package and a living trust package are each priced as a whole, and your fee letter has the number.
Who pays for court and filing fees?
You do. They are separate from our fee and we estimate them in the fee letter.
Can I bring my parent without telling them why?
We would rather you told them. We can help you find the words, and we are happy to meet them first at home.
What if my siblings disagree?
We can include everyone in a family meeting, but we work for the person signing the documents. We help the family understand the plan.
Do you make home or hospital visits?
Yes, when travel is hard for a parent. Tell us when you call.
How long does an estate stay open?
It depends on the court and the estate, and is often most of a year. We give you a range at the start.
Do you work on Saturdays?
Yes, by appointment from 9am to noon at all three offices.
What goes in the folder?
Statements, the deed, insurance policies and any old legal documents. If you have none of them, come anyway.
Something we missed?
The phone is answered by a person, and the first call is free.
Fees are quoted in writing before work starts; court and filing costs are separate.
